Diagnostic:

We are now equipped with a full bosch diagnostic fault finding machine, suitable for most vehicles. You no longer have to take your car to a main dealer to have it checked when a fault light appears on your dash. Service lights reset and abs faults checked.

We are fully trained in diagnostic faultfinding and repair on most vehicle electronic systems. These include;

ABS brakes
Engine Management
Service light
Airbag systems

Servicing & MOT:

At Girvans, we service vehicles to the highest standard. We have fully trained mechanics to work on your car, giving piece of mind about receiving the highest possible service.
When your car is in for a main or interim service, we have a checklist so that the customer receives a full report on the condition of their car, highlighting any current or future problems the car may have. While your car is being serviced we have courtesy cars available upon request.
We are a class III and IV MOT testing station. This means that we are able to MOT cars, light commercials vehicles and 4 x 4’s. See our offer page about money off you next MOT.

L.P.G. Installers:

We are fully qualified LPGA approved gas installers. We use the Nicholson-McLaren equipment that is among the world leaders in the LPG market.

Why covert to LPG?

Converting your car to LPG will save you money, the current cost of LPG is half that of petrol and diesel. The typical cost of converting a family car to LPG is about £1500 + VAT. If you drive over 15,000 miles per year then the cost of the conversion will pay for itself in the first year, every year after that is money you will save!

LPG is also much friendlier to the environment as there is cleaner combustion and fewer emissions than in petrol and diesel cars. There is about a 75% reduction in carbon monoxide and about 20% less nitrogen oxide emissions.

Tyres:

At Girvans, we have a large range of tyres in stock at very competitive prices. We stock both economy and premium brands to cater for every road users needs.

We offer a free tyre check, to check the condition and tread of tyres. We also offer a puncture repair service.

Contact us and you will be surprised at the price we can offer you for a fitted tyre (balance and weights, valve and disposal of old tyres).

Laser Tracking:

At Girvans, we have laser tracking gauges to check your wheel alignment. If you notice that your tyres are suffering from excessive or uneven wear, or perhaps your steering is pulling to the left or right, then it is likely that your wheel alignment is out.
Potholes and uneven road surfaces can affect your wheel alignment causing unnecessary tyre wear and therefore costing you extra money.

Winter Servicing:

Bring your car to us and we give all the necessary checks to see if your car is ready for winter. We have a check list and will give you a full report back about the condition of your car for winter motoring from tread depth on every tyre to the charge on you battery. All the checks we carry out are listed below:

At Girvans we a Suzuki marine main dealer for outboard engines and spare parts. We have all the specialist tools required to work on them and computer diagnostics for any faults. We also have the back up of the Suzuki parts department, delivering most parts to us within 24hrs.
